Her essay on the task, and the metaphor, of "blind reading," does a great job explaining why the phrase "blind reading" is unhelpful

Thank you very much to dragonyphoenix, who was kind enough to swap posting days with me after my catastrophic technical failure last week.
It's an AO3 only link today (apologies), as DW is buggering around with formatting. Urgh.
These are the concluding chapters (3 and 4) of Part IV in the Sanctuary Series. You can find the other parts of this series linked below.

Dating is a minefield. And that’s just when you’re single, nevermind in a definitely-not-a-relationship with a man who might technically be your boss.
If Buffy were a betting woman, she’d put money on Giles being jealous. But she isn’t, and he’s definitely not.
In order to ease myself back into it, I thought I'd get to know the new Doctor's actress a little. She's done lots of stuff but Broadchurch was on my netflix so it was easiest to watch and I'd heard good things about it, so I decided to watch. And OMG am I glad I did. I LOVED IT!!! I mean, new Doctor aside, I really loved the show. (I mostly forgot that she was the reason I started watching the show after about 2 episodes.) I would say it's basically a Brit version of The Killing, which I adored. One case/story over a long period (multiple seasons), lady cop that I LOVE*, unlikely partnership that scratches my itches in all the right ways.. YES GOOD THANKS.
I'm really sad they only did 3 series of Broadchurch. :((((( And Hardy/Miller is my ship flavor of the moment now.
*so my love for Ellie Miller is just like, okay, she's so optimistic and wants to save the world and she endures unimaginable pain, such a specific kind that very few people have to go through (trying not to spoil here), but she comes out the other side and she's STILL optimistic and STILL upbeat and STILL so empathetic and that's her best feature THAT'S what helps her solve crimes THAT'S what makes her so crucial to Hardy, so irreplacable, and no she's not perfect by any means, but her humanity is what gives her the edge and helps her see the things he misses - that and her CRAZY CRIMESOLVING WALLS (my favorite) - that helps her connect to victims she fights for, and she doesn't let Hardy's gruffness get to her, she's just like oh shut up, she's amazingly strong to be there for the best friend that hates her, and I just???? LOVE??? HER?????!!!!! Here's a convenient list of Miller's 10 best moments ahahha my laughter devolves into sobbing because I love her so much.
HERE HAVE A RANDOM PICSPAM I MADE b/c I love Hardy and Miller so muh-huh-huch

Title: The Wedding of Frog Fears and Anthropomorphic Nonsense
Characters/Relationships: established Willow/Giles, other relationships to be named later.
Summary: When Willow and Giles' iPhones decide to get married, and an ill-timed wish gets made, chaos inevitably ensues.
Notes: This is a sequel to my story The Love Song of Frog Fears and Anthropomorphic Nonsense. People with long memories may remember that I wrote and posted the first chapter of this story to Summer of Giles a few years ago.
I have STUFF. It accumulates. Being a frugal, responsible person, I kept a lot of it because "it might be useful" or "somebody else might find it useful" or "I could give it away on Freecycle" or "I could sell it on Ebay". And I did none of the above. None.
The effort and stress of listing something on Ebay has obviously been too great for me to summon up the energy to do. Likewise for Freecycle. This gives me much guilt, because putting things into landfill when they could be recycled is BAD. BAD KA! BAD BAD BAD! I have thus been caught between feeling guilty if I threw it away, and feeling stressed if I didn't. Because Stuff Taking Up Space is getting to really stressful levels for me. I have all these craft materials! I need to put them somewhere! I'm running out of space!
I have finally said "enough!" (or "too much", really). Forget Ebay. Forget Freecycle. Forget them all. One phone call, and I have booked a Hard Rubbish collection. My hope is that people round about will take at least some things off the pile before it gets collected by the Local Council. Shove my guilt, the stress has just gotten TOO MUCH. Stuff it!
So. Hard rubbish. Today I've been going around the house gathering stuff and clearing away stuff. Hopefully my nephew will help me tomorrow to put heavy things outside on the kerb.

Notes: Hi guys, so my vid today is different to other's that I've done for our beloved Watcher in that it features DAWN! The inspiration came from this when I was rewatching season 6 and decided to hunt down some Giles/Dawn vids but couldn't find any. Anyhoo, this post/vid has two titles because it can be read either romantically or as a father/daughter relationship (which as I type that strikes me just how weird that is.) My intention behind it was to be viewed as a father/daughter relationship but, after raiding my music library for a fitting father/daughter song, I couldn't find anything to fit them, so I went for the least problematic one I could find (which is still pretty problematic - but I was kinda sold on it from the first line, 'the dawn is breaking' ... :) )
I hope you enjoy it. Have a lovely weekend, guys x
Summary: After the destruction of Sunnydale, the defeat of the first and the aftermath of the destruction of the Watcher's Council, Rupert Giles, the Scoobies and the Slayers return to England. Over 2 years later, the Watcher, living in his family home outside of London, is visited by an old ally, sent to aid him in the fight against evil.
Note: This story takes place 2 years after the events of Chosen and over a year after the events of Not Fade Away. Everything that happened during the run of both Buffyverse shows are canon. BtVS season 8, is not. Not for this story. This story is an AU that negates the events of the comics, though there are some elements that will be. The characters of the Fairweather sisters are prominent characters in this series. FCed by the Head sisters because a) I love Emily Head since she started in Emmerdale and b) I had her as a similar character in a different story but when I heard Joss's plans for the Ripper series I made some changes. This story is a work of fanfiction. Prominent characters belong to Joss Whedon. Though the Comics aren't a part of my universe (though I do still love them) because of certains actions taken by certain vampires against certain watchers, there are elements of the comics, especially season 8 that I will be using: little tidbits that such as the direction of characters since the end of the shows. Any chapter that contains any comic information will be noted in the chapter notes. I will also note any OCs. My head is a little fuzzy and my math is worse so if there's any confusion on timeline or anything at all call me up on it and feel free to ask :)
Rating: FRT Disclaimer: I own nothing, except the story.
Characters: Rupert Giles, Cordelia Chase, Lavinia Fairweather, Sophronia Fairweather, mentions of the Scoobies and Angel Investigations gang
Pairings: Rupert Giles/Cordelia Chase/Lavinia Fairweather/Sophronia Fairweather -- non-romantic.

I made two items for the same prompt, because it was such a fabulous prompt:
Threads. As light as gossamer or spun into a thread; holding things together at the seams; yarn woven into a tapestry or the warmest blanket; twisted into string, a cord, a rope. Threads of memory or of hair. Loose threads. (prompt by eoforth)
First piece: Interlocking Lives

Second piece: Woven Threads
